After stopping over in Malaysia, Shanghai and Korea, the House of Vans Hong Kong will be at the Central Harbourfront Event Space on October 6 and 7. Expect a weekend of celebrations packed with skateboarding, music, art and street culture that encapsulates the “Off The Wall” spirit of Vans.
This year’s House of Vans Hong Kong event is filled with highlights – chief among them is the Vans Stoop Series skate area, which will partner with AHKSA to host the Game of L.E.D.G.E. skate competition, as well as host free-for-all skate sessions and free skate lessons taught by pro skaters. Hong Kong’s very own graffiti initiative, HKWALLS will be supporting the event via an exhibition of artworks alongside a live graffiti performance in the afternoon of October 6.
Music is a vital element of House of Vans, and the Hong Kong event will showcase a non-stop lineup of bands from Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. The musical experience will be spectacular bar none, blending influences from all over the region.
As a platform for street and youth culture, House of Vans has also invited cultural movers and shakers to push the conversation forward over the two-day event. This year, Hkranking has been invited to host an arts and crafts market for the city’s independent artisans to showcase their creations. Vans has also invited several youth art groups to share their knowledge through a series of workshops in an environment that encourages artistic expression in the spirit of “Off The Wall.”
The Vans Custom Culture Workshop will allow sneaker fans to personally experience the fun in creating your own shoes. Those interested can sign up for events starting from Sep 14, at vans.com/houseofvansasia. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming days.
