On Saturday 10, 2016, to celebrate the 50th anniversary, Vans brought its “Off The Wall” heritage grounded in action sports, art, music and street culture to Bangkok, the last stop of House of Vans Asia Tour 2016.
Anticipation scented in the air as around 2,000 vans fans including celebrities gathered in excitement at Makkasan Airport Real Link Terminal. Attendees were offered to experience Vans unique culture through lots of engaging activations; exhibition, workshops, street market and musical performances.
Not just chilling out at HOV street market with those awesome shops and food, we told our background and story in skateboarding through Timeline History Wall and exhibition by the skater and photographer Olarn Posuwan. Many interactive activities, such as DIY paper shoes, shoe painting workshop and showcase by renowned artists P7 / NEV3R / BENZILLA / OCT29 as well encouraged attendees to perceive and unleash their creative expressions.
The ultimate musical experience was also the highlight and iconic HOV scene, attendees reveled in concerts from 4 underground bands; Dujada, Bobkat, Triggs and the Longest Day and Annalynn during the afternoon and even cut loose throughout the night when the lineups; Lomosonic, Sweet Mullet and BrandNew Sunset rocked out on stage. And it was all free for everyone to participate.
Following Vans’ statement, the event is part of the House of Vans experience around the world, which aims to further cement Vans’ dedication to fostering creative expression through action sports, art, music and street culture and to encourage the creative communities that have supported Vans for the past 50 years and that will continue to support Vans for years to come!
